Werner Steenkamp
Founder & Director | Circle Accounting (Pty) Ltd
Werner founded Circle Accounting with a simple belief: great accounting is about more than numbers. It is about understanding people, building relationships and helping businesses succeed through sound financial management and informed decision-making.
A qualified accountant, Werner graduated from the University of Johannesburg in 2020 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. He subsequently completed his articles at an audit firm, gaining extensive experience in accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
During his first year of articles, Werner was already entrusted with leading smaller audit engagements, progressing to Audit Senior in his second year. He was also seconded to a client as acting Head of Finance while the business recruited a permanent replacement.
Upon completing his articles, Werner was offered a position as Audit Manager at the same firm. Over the following two years, he managed some of its largest audit engagements.
Wanting to understand business from the other side of the table, Werner deliberately transitioned into industry, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges faced by business owners and finance teams.
Werner also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (CTA) from Milpark Education and continues to invest in his professional development.
This combination of technical expertise, practical business experience and a genuine interest in people forms the foundation of Circle Accounting: a firm where clients feel supported, understand their finances and know their success genuinely matters.
